Christina Farsovitch, left, her daughter Elaina Farsovitch, both from Marysville, and Scott Sanderson of Bellingham, right with flag, cheer as the March for Bernie Rally begins on Saturday afternoon July 24, 2016, in downtown Bellingham, Wash. The march started at City Hall, moved down Commercial Street through downtown, then onto Holly Street ending at Maritime Heritage Park.
Co-organizer Paula Smith of Blaine says about 200 people showed up for the rally. She added that the purpose of the rally was to keep the movement to nominate Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders as the Democratic presidential nominee going. "We still think he can be nominated," she says, "We're here to keep the political movement going. We really believe in him."
"He's been illegally blocked," she says concerning the recent email scandal, "We've been cheated. We're really waiting to hear from Bernie." (© Paul Conrad/The Bellingham Herald) (© Paul Conrad/The Bellingham Herald) (photo © Paul Conrad/The Bellingham Herald)
